About This Role

Are you passionate about precision work and transforming spaces? Carolina Renew is looking for a skilled Cabinet Refinishing Specialist to join our Cabinet Services division. This role focuses exclusively on kitchen and bathroom cabinet refinishing, one of the highest-demand services we offer.

As a Cabinet Refinishing Specialist, you'll work in customers' homes to prep, paint, and refinish cabinets to factory-new condition. Our process involves meticulous surface preparation, professional spray application, and flawless finishing techniques. You'll be responsible for delivering results that exceed customer expectations every time.

We use premium Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore cabinet coatings, HVLP spray systems, and proven techniques that set us apart from competitors. If you take pride in detailed work and love seeing dramatic before-and-after transformations, this role is for you.

Our Cabinet Services team members are among the highest-paid specialists in the company, reflecting the skill and precision this work requires. We provide all training, equipment, and materialsβ€”you bring the dedication and attention to detail.

A Day in the Life

β˜€οΈ

You arrive at a customer's home at 8 AM with your equipment already loaded. After a quick introduction and final color confirmation, you set up your containment area and begin removing doors. The morning is all about prepβ€”cleaning, sanding, and priming with precision. After a lunch break, you begin spray application, working systematically through all cabinet surfaces. By end of day, the first coat is curing and you've documented progress. Day two brings final coats; day three is hardware reinstallation and touch-ups. When the homeowner sees their 'new' kitchen, the reaction makes it all worthwhile.

What You'll Do

βœ“ Refinish kitchen and bathroom cabinets to factory-quality standards
βœ“ Perform thorough surface preparation including cleaning, deglossing, sanding, and priming
βœ“ Apply cabinet coatings using HVLP spray equipment for smooth, professional finishes
βœ“ Remove and reinstall cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware
βœ“ Protect surrounding surfaces, appliances, and flooring during work
βœ“ Match colors and finishes to customer specifications
βœ“ Repair minor cabinet damage including scratches, dents, and chips
βœ“ Set up contained spray areas within customer homes
βœ“ Maintain spray equipment and ensure proper cleaning after each job
βœ“ Document project progress with before/during/after photos
βœ“ Communicate with customers about project status and care instructions
βœ“ Meet quality checkpoints at each stage of the refinishing process
βœ“ Manage project timelines to complete 2-3 day kitchen transformations
βœ“ Participate in training on new products and techniques
βœ“ Maintain inventory of cabinet refinishing supplies
