About This Role

Carolina Renew's Floor Coatings division is seeking an Epoxy Floor Coating Specialist to install industrial-strength floor systems in residential garages, basements, and commercial facilities. This specialized role combines precision application techniques with an understanding of concrete surface preparation.

As an Epoxy Floor Coating Specialist, you'll transform dull, stained concrete into stunning, durable floors using epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic coating systems. Our floor coatings division has experienced rapid growth as homeowners discover the value of professional garage floor transformations.

This position requires mechanical aptitudeβ€”you'll operate diamond grinders, shot blasters, and industrial vacuums as part of our comprehensive prep process. The finished product is only as good as the preparation, and we take pride in doing this right.

We provide extensive training on our coating systems and techniques. Previous flooring experience is valued but not required if you have construction experience and the drive to learn a specialized trade.

A Day in the Life

β˜€οΈ

Start at 7 AM loading your van with equipmentβ€”grinder, vacuum, coatings, and flake. Arrive at a residential garage by 8 AM, move the homeowner's items to the driveway, and begin grinding. The dust collection system captures most debris as you profile the entire floor. Mid-morning, evaluate for moisture and apply repair compounds to cracks. After lunch, prime coat goes down. While that cures, prep materials for tomorrow's color coat and flake broadcast. Document progress, clean equipment, and head back by 4 PM. Next day, you return to complete the stunning transformation.

What You'll Do

βœ“ Prepare concrete surfaces using diamond grinding and shot blasting equipment
βœ“ Apply epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic floor coatings
βœ“ Install decorative flake and metallic coating systems
βœ“ Evaluate concrete condition and moisture content
βœ“ Repair cracks, chips, and spalling before coating
βœ“ Mix coating components according to specifications
βœ“ Apply primers, base coats, broadcast media, and clear coats
βœ“ Ensure proper cure times and environmental conditions
βœ“ Operate and maintain grinding and preparation equipment
βœ“ Install cove base and transition strips
βœ“ Document projects with before/during/after photography
βœ“ Communicate with customers about project timeline and care
βœ“ Maintain equipment and vehicle inventory
βœ“ Follow safety protocols for coating products
